Give the world a Helping Hand!
On February 13th, 2016, I invited students and adults to participate in my project to help children across the globe who need a hand.
During this event 75 participants learned about 3D printing and how this technology is used in printing inexpensive mechanical hands for children who need them.
They also assembled 16 3D printed prosthetic hands. These 3D printed hands cost $40 compared to professionally made prosthetic hands which are $30,000 – $40,000. The hands are then shipped to different parts of the world to children who need them. These hands transformed the life of the child receiving the hand.
